Moecherville is a small but tight-knit community on the east side of Aurora. Also known as Scraper-Moecherville, the area includes many long-time home owners and second- and even third-generation residents. Moecherville consists of mostly ranch-style single family homes built around 1952, although you will find a couple split levels and two-stories. Although Scraper-Moecherville is sometimes referred to as a subdivision, it really isn’t. It’s more of an individual community that’s part of unincorporated Aurora and covers approximately six city blocks.
Moecherville is located close to the large Hometown subdivision and is marked by the large water tower located within the community. The area is close to shopping along the Route 34 corridor in Oswego and is just a short drive to the Westfiel Fox Valley Mall. One of the most well-known businesses in Moecherville is the Doggie Diner on Hill Avenue and is a regular meeting place for community members.
